Zirmed Garage Topped Out

One of the two City Properties Garages in downtown Louisville seems to be topped out. Last week construction crews removed the tall crane at the property on West Market. The structure tops out at 6 stories and will feature a gym facing Market Street. It looks like they are getting close to topping out the second garage as on fourth and Chestnut as well.

Zirmed Garage Building Progress

Since there are two City Properties garages going up in the central business district, here's a picture of the second one. This one is a new parking garage next to the Zirmed Tower. Crews are currently working on the six floor of the garage. The bottom floor of it will include room for a gym. The garage is all part of the City Groups masterplan for the area. With the garage in place, they finally can start looking at developing the parking lot just south of the buildings.

Parking Garage near Fourth Street Update

There are currently 3 large parking garages being built in downtown Louisville. One near the arena, that looks almost complete, one adjacent to the Zirmed tower near ninth street, and this one on Fourth and Chestnut. The latter two are both built by Louisville developer Bill Weyland and seem to progress at the same rate of building speed. The one on fourth street, as you can see in the picture, has progressed to the third floor. It is not located right at the edge of the property line in order to leave room for a planned Indigo hotel with 105 rooms as well as 30 apartments. That building is supposed to be built at a later date.

Zirmed Gateway Towers Construction Update

It looks like the north tower of Zirmed Gateway Towers is almost topped off. Construction has reached the 10th floor over there. Workers are currently working on the eleventh floor of the south tower. So they are still one floor shy of topping off the whole building. They are also currently putting in window frames on the third floor, after they've completed the first and the second.

From the looks of it, the tenth floor of the north tower might be a penthouse with a huge deck area. I am actually quite excited about seeing this project slowly being completed. It's going to be a very nice mid-rise.

Zirmed Gateway Tower - Now with Windows

Louisville's Zirmed Gateway Tower now has windows. Workers recently installed shiny new panes of bluish glass on the bottom floor of the high rise. I almost think it's a little too soon for that, since there are still plenty of hammers to be dropped until the building is topped off. Besides, the exterior of the building is still missing as well.

Zirmed Gateway Tower - Yet another quick update

Since so many people are interested in what's happening over at the Zirmed Gateway tower construction site, here's another quick construction update. It looks like they are currently working on the tenth floor. I am still hoping that they decide to go higher, but I think they'd be close to topping off on the north tower.

Zirmed Gateway Tower Update

Just a little update on the Zirmed Gateway Tower on Ninth and Market. Crews are now working on the eighth floor. As you can see on the below picture, they have started putting frames in on the first floor. So, work is coming along quite nicely.
